Big Bike Fun Day Reminder

Not doing anything on Sunday? Join us at the Big Bike Fun Day CAR FREE cycle event at the Stirling University campus from 12 noon to 4pm.

By courtesy of the university authorities and First Bus, there will be no motorised traffic during this period on the stretch of road from the roundabout which turns down towards the MacRobert roundabout and beyond.

With a lovely setting beside Airthrey Loch, it has the potential to be a great day, designed to increase cycling confidence and abilities through fun activities, training and a safe, short, traffic-free cycling loop.

Organised by Going Carbon Neutral Stirling, a programme of environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful, the event is aimed mostly at families and less confident cyclists.

Central FM will be there to add to the atmosphere and there will be fun bike races, including Stirling’s Slowest Bike Race! There will be a uni-cycling juggler, face painting, free bike checks, security coding, longer bike routes and much more.

Also in the pipeline is another Fun Day in the Riverside area of Stirling at the end of August plus lots of cycling activities in association with the Broomridge Food Festival on Sunday, October 2.

Further information on these events will be posted on the Cycle Stirling website at www.cyclestirling.org.uk
