Cycle Awareness Training Course for Learner Drivers is trialled by Cycling Scotland

Cycling Scotland logoCycling Scotland will  be running its first ever Cycle Awareness Training course for learner drivers in Stirling, in partnership with Recyke-a-bike, on Sunday 26 February 1.00pm – 4.30 pm.

This free half day course will develop candidate’s hazard perception and promote safer driving practices when interacting with people on bikes. The course involves both theory and practical riding on local roads, delivered by expert cycle instructors who have experience of running the successful Cycle Awareness Training courses for lorry and bus drivers.

Stirling driving Instructor Gareth Marchant of the Forth Valley ADI Association, said “This is a fantastic initiative by Cycling Scotland, I would encourage all learner or new drivers to take advantage of this unique opportunity to gain an insight into this aspect of road risk.”

The course is free, but candidates must book a place.
