Find training near you

Introduction

Cycling Scotland use Tutors to deliver our Instructor Training Programmes. The qualified instructors may deliver one of the National Programmes such as Cycle Training or Go Mountain Bike at a Centre.  Some Centres may deliver both the instructor training and the cycling programmes. The information below should help you find the training for you.

Centres

Cycling Scotland are currently working with cycling projects to develop a programme of accredited cycling centres that can deliver cycle instruction locally.

Often these projects are local cycling projects that offer other services such as maintenance and repair or guided rides. An example of such a project is the Bike Station in Edinburgh.

Through our Go Mountain Bike programme we have been accrediting outlets who use qualified mountain bike instructors to deliver this exciting new 5 level mountain bike proficiency scheme. You can view a list of Go MTB Centres here.

Accredited Tutors

Cycling Scotland use experienced tutors to deliver all of our courses, many of the tutors deliver a range of cycling courses and several of them are experienced in delivering other aspects of outdoor learning, education and programmes for sports governing bodies.

A list of our accredited tutors and associated support staff can be viewed here.

Our tutors have technical knowledge in their subject areas gained over several years and through a range of qualifications. All our tutors have been trained to a National Standard as tutors to supplement their existing technical knowledge.

Our tutors attend regular CPD events to ensure that they are up to date with current practice and processes.

Instructors

We also support the network of independent instructors with our instructor training programmes. You can view a list of qualified instructors here.
