Transport Planning and Engineering
Transport Planning and Engineering (TP&E) is one of Scotland’s leading sustainable transportation consultancies. The TP&E team combines civil engineering and transport planning expertise to provide a range of high quality, customer focussed services, from strategic development and planning to practical design and construction management.
There has been a fundamental shift in the tone of transportation policy in Scotland over the past 15 years, emphasising the need for the re-emergence of sustainable travel modes. TP&E aims to fill the gap in project delivery that actively contributes to a sustainable future.
Our vision is for Scotland to have a transport network and built environment that meets the needs of all users, and in which cycling and walking are positive travel and leisure choices rather than secondary considerations.
With local, national and international experience in-house, we draw on best practice worldwide, combining professional expertise with creative thinking to bring you cost effective solutions designed to improve the quality of life in all our communities.
Our clients include regional agencies, local authorities, and other organisations. We work closely in partnership with public and private sector bodies, providing guidance and advice on a whole range of issues.
One of our strengths is the ability to build close working relationships with our clients. We believe in getting to know the needs of our customers, and measure our success in terms of reputation and repeat business. The size of our hard working and dedicated team allows us to be fully client focussed and dynamic enough to react to your needs.
TP&E is a social enterprise company which is a subsidiary of Cycling Scotland. Profits made from serving our clients are fed back into cycling projects such as cycle training, active lifestyle promotion, public events and policy guidance. So in effect the services we provide deliver twice over for our clients.
TP&E has provided design services to 13 local authorities, Sustrans and other public bodies in Scotland since inception in 2006. The work has provided Scotland with 71km of new cycle routes. TP&E has reviewed, carried out feasibility studies and designed over 500km of potential routes and worked with Sustrans on sections of the NCN.
