Welcome to the Cycling Scotland Standard Details section of the website.

Cycling Scotland has undergone a literature review of research of cycle-infrastructure related design and construction and developed the following standard details. They provide guidance to both the general public and practitioners involved in the planning, design, and construction of cycle-related infrastructure, for use across Scotland and beyond. The standard details are based on the details from Transport for London.

The aim is to increase overall quality of life by using high-quality design to build people-friendly streets and consequently liveable, desirable communities.

Over the next 6 months groups of standard details will be launched keeping you up to date with the ever changing philosophy to cycle infrastructure design. The first in the series to be launched is Signing and Parking. You can click on the links below to download the relevant details for you.
