Workplace Grants Award

This scheme has been developed for organisation’s registered on the Cycle Friendly Employer Award to help focus on removing barriers they may encounter.  It has the potential to engage a greater number of workplaces in cycle promotion, especially SME’s, and ultimately contribute to increasing the number of staff cycling to work. 

The scheme has been developed and launched to support those organisation’s that have identified specific barriers to achieving Cycle Friendly status.  The scheme will exclude large infrastructure grants and projects and focus more on initiatives which encourage and enable  cycling to work.  Grants awarded will most likely include funding for staff cycle training, Cycle to Work scheme promotion, pool bikes, improvement’s to existing cycle parking etc.  We will also be looking for innovative ideas that will encourage cycle commuting for all staff. 

The closing date for 2009/10 submissions was the 11th September 2009.  Details of future grants will be published here.
